Industrial rubber sheets are typically packaged and shipped in order to protect them from damage during transit. The packaging materials used depend on the size and weight of the rubber sheet, as well as the destination of the shipment. Generally, industrial rubber sheets are packaged in either cardboard boxes or wooden crates.
For smaller rubber sheets, the cardboard boxes are usually lined with polyethylene film, styrofoam, or bubble wrap to provide additional protection. For larger rubber sheets, the cardboard boxes may be reinforced with wooden dowels or custom-cut pieces of plywood.
For heavier rubber sheets, wooden crates are typically used. The crates are constructed from kiln-dried hardwood, and are reinforced with braces, nails, and screws. The rubber sheets are then secured to the crate with metal strapping. The entire crate is then shrink-wrapped, and the openings are sealed with duct tape.
